Emma masters phonics

I am a bit tardy posting this but a couple of weeks ago Emma finished her phonics book "An Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading." She has been a good reader for a while but we are now officially done and moving on to more of a literature program while continuing to work through Explode the Code. She and I celebrated with a trip to Maggie Moos.

It is amazing to think how quickly she has grown from the little 3 year old who would lounge on the couch with "War and Peace" or the current day's classic and "pretend" to read telling us things like,"I am on page 97" or "Can I finish this chapter first?" Now she can really say those things!!

Congratulations Emma!!! That is great! When you're done with War and Peace, will you tell me about it so that I don't have to read it. ;)
