By My Hands

It has been a long time since I have done a "By My Hands" post so this is a bit obnoxious, but here are some of the things I have made in the last few months.

I made this shade for the boys' room from the idea I gathered from this blog for a simple shade. You hang it on hooks and then put little tabs where you want them so that you can pull it up how you like. It works sort of like a roman shade would but with less options and way way way easier to make!!

I had some fabric left over so I made this bucket for their cars. I have been having fun making buckets and using this stuff called chalkcloth that works like a chalkboard.

Jack has a sketchpad that he has to use for drawings for his art class; he had been carrying it around in an old girly listtaker I had made last year. One of his buddy's asked me to make one for his sketchpad so I decided that I might as well make Jack a new one while I was at it.

Then I appliqued one of the cars on a striped T for my nephew. I started another one for creed but I haven't finished it yet.

occupational hazard: I stitched my finger to the shirt and didn't realize it until several stitches later.
I tweaked a baby shoe pattern I found online and have made several pairs of baby shoes.

A couple more buckets:

This last one is made from a coffee bean bag.
Emma has been wanting a long cape for a long time so I finally made her one for Christmas and then made up this little layered skirt to match.

I haven't sewn much for Creed but I recently managed this new jon jon.
And lastly, a small sampling of some binder covers I have made.

Those fireman baby shoes are precious!!! Did you make Creed's shirt or did you buy that somewhere? I'm looking for some for the boys for easter and I don't know where to find them.

Loved the shade and the items made from the leftovers. You can't see the tabs?

I love seeing people's projects. Love the blackout curtain! And I love it that it is all kinds of things. You are talented, my mathematical friend.

I love the curtain idea! I may have to use that in our next place! And I LOVE the buckets... I may have to pay you to make some for my boys. Since we are moving we won't have a school room anymore and I am going to need a new system for organizing their school work. I wonder if the buckets can be made just slightly more rectangularish to accommodate books?

Not obnoxious at all! It is fun to see all you have made and inspiring. I especially love those darling shoes and the fabric buckets. The book covers are neat too. I keep thinking I will "get around" to making a book cover of some sort, but . . . . . . . . .
