A Message of Comfort , Hope, and Truth

It seems really weird to post a link to a funeral service, and I am not sure that I'd listen to one that someone else linked. I listened to Knox's funeral the other day for the first time in probably two years. I did cry as it brought back a lot of memories, but it was a real comfort to me to hear again that message of comfort, hope, and truth. We do not grieve as those who have no hope.

Click here to listen to A Service of Celebration for the Life of Matthew Knox Anderson that took place years ago today. I couldn't get it to link directly so you will have to scroll down until you see the title.

I still listen to that sermon on occasion, and have had several opportunities to pass it on as a supreme example of how to praise God in the midst of suffering by looking toward His goodness and His promises.

It seems odd to use word beautiful, but that's just what that service was! Beautiful.

We were just talking this past weekend with the Petersons about his service and what an amazing sermon it was. I was really wishing to be able to listen to it again, I love God's timing! I am still discovering ways in which Knox drastically effected my walk with the Lord, greatly increased my faith, permanently focused my view of life onto Heaven as well as this life in reality being a pilgrimage and I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for sharing ~ It was a comfort to me to be able to listen to it. So many things I "know" and yet seem to "forget" when grief comes in so strong. It was a beautiful service. I'm sure it was even more beautiful in person and I'm grateful to be reminded that "When the pain grabs you to hold fast to the steadfast love of Christ." I keep remembering when your pastor said "He was always a joy and now he knows joy to the fullest." I can't wait for that day ~ the day when I will also know joy to the fullest.
