Red and Aqua

My new love in fabric:
Janey Kate's first "mommy made dress" that I made in the fall. The fabric is called Plain Jane and the pattern is Sweet Little Dress from Lelia and Ben.
Then I thought I was ordering more of the flowers fabric for the older girls from one of my favorite online fabric stores, Marie-Madeline Studios and bought a bigger print instead. I made a dress up for Emma from this free pattern and wasn't sure I was going to like it but I do. I just need to move the straps in a bit. This is going to be her Easter dress; I feel amazingly ahead of the game, but I bet I am still doing some sewing the week before anyway.
I also took the leftovers from Janey Kate's dress and some other coordinating fabric I had to make myself a kindle cover. I love it. It makes me smile just looking at it.

Janey Kate's First Refashion + Bonus

I really wanted Janey Kate to have a red and white dress to wear for Christmas and didn't want to shop for one or buy one so I took a read and white striped 18 month t-shirt and cut it off under the arms and attached it to a onesie.


Making this cute little dress on a still cuter little girl. And the best part of all was that I didn't have to do any hemming or any finishing of edges!


Then I copied off a friend and made Creed a puppy dog shirt. After all, he did inform me the other day of the following: I love babies. I also love puppies!!

Sewing in general is therapy for me, but this is the last thing I made for Knox.

By My hands

First...the Easter dresses. I used the same pattern but let them kind of choose the fabric. Emma wanted plain brown(???) so we compromised on turquoise and brown. Anne Michal's is the red and white and Elizabeth's is the blue and white.




I have had the fabric for this dress in my stash for several years proving that sometimes just the right dress comes along and the stash is such a useful thing to have.


Next are short I made for Jack to wear on Easter. I may just have to make all his shorts after this because there is no way these are going to fall off his skinny little waist. ;-)


Last some bermuda shorts I made the girls using this pattern. I took pics from the side, front and back. I love how tailored these are. I did forget the tabs on the red and blue ones.
I do wish it weren't so hard to find good quality fabric that didn't cost a fortune. This fabric, actually wasn't cheap but notice how the brown pair has faded. I made these several weeks ago and I think they have been washed 4 times. The others I just finished today. It is very frustrating. So just consider them a vintage look! ;-)
